The principle aim is to provide the highway engineering industry with a programme at undergraduate level which will equip candidates with the technical and management skills to function at middle management level.

New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) Level 6

Learn about the design and development of civil infrastructure that we all live and work with including roads, railways, airports, water supply, drainage, wastewater disposal, bridges, dams, multi-storey buildings, tunnels and other public works.  This two year diploma includes core and elective courses focused on the design and implementation of engineering technology and aimed at providing you with sound thinking and problem solving abilities.  You will gain a fundamental grounding in engineering theory and principles of engineering science including design and drawing, materials, surveying hydraulics, geotech structures and highways.

Can be completed part-time or via block-course format.

New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3) with optional strand in Plant Operation

Designed to provide the infrastructure works industry with people who have a broad range of infrastructure works skills, including the safe and effective operation of basic plant and equipment. This qualification is a cornerstone for those wanting to move into technical roles in the civil works, surfacing construction and manufacturing, pipe installations and utilities maintenance contexts. Graduates of this qualification are able to work safely in a range of infrastructure works context with limited supervision.

Designed to develop skills and knowledge for those who want to explore their options in contracting occupations and associated trades.  A great option to help decide on a more defined career direction. This qualification is relevant to pre-apprenticeship training programmes in civil infrastructure maintenance and construction, or work experience placement programmes.

Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Level 7)

This is a three-year engineering degree, offered as a study pathway into engineering, construction and related manufacturing industries. Undergo a practice-based skills formation process, and learn to understand and apply engineering science knowledge. You will also develop the capability to analyse and implement solutions to real-life, practical situations.

As a graduate you will meet an industry need for people who can actively apply engineering knowledge in industry, and integrate that knowledge into high level practical situations. You can choose to major in Civil or Mechanical engineering.
